In 1926 The Berges brothers founded the company, which was mainly engaged in the production of presses and punches. In the 1940s the company began manufacturing variators drives. Over the years, the company abandoned its original business and specialized in the production of mechanical variators and variation drives.
In 2003, Berges expanded its mechanical belt variator program to include Becker's asymmetric variator program.
Today, Berges is a modernly designed company for the development and production of variator drives based on mechanical-belt variators. With subsidiaries in Switzerland, Italy and North America, it manages the areas of state-of-the-art markets.
