Tap position sensors have the same principle of operation as wire position sensors. However, they have a much longer lifespan than wire sensors, especially in applications where the wire is routed via a diverter pulley. With wire sensors, the wire guided through the pulley is destroyed much faster than with normal use.
Therefore, ASM was the first in the world to develope a new range of sensors in the series POSITAPE.
